Odell is another bull to join our line of quality genetics to share with the Dutch Belted breed. He represents our favorite genetics ever used all rolled into one sire. He has tested
A2/A2 for those looking for this trait linked to increased health benefits.
This bull’s sire is Haag’s Dutch-Ayr Leon Milkweed. Milkweed has sired many classy calves, both here in the US and in New Zealand. Leon, and hence Milkweed, traces back to Brink-Noel.
The bull’s paternal granddam, Haag’s Dutch-Ayr Gold Cosmo, was the pride and joy of our farm. She won many shows including Grand Champion Dutch Belted at the Grundy County Fair in Morris, IL for an unbelievable 4 years straight. She also won Champion Breed honors at the Livingston County 4-H Fair and Supreme Champion at Cullom Jr. Fair. She was sired by Grayview Gold Dust.
Odell’s dam is Haag’s Dutch-Ayr Nab Brookfield who traces back to the Upson herd, Bestyet Apple Cider, and Threeway Acres Jumbo. Brookfield has been a work horse on our farm. During her last lactation, she peaked at 70lbs of milk a day and maintained that for many months.
