A plan to provide for "breeding up" from other dairy cattle, using purebred Dutch Belted bulls. Other breed bulls on Dutch Belt females will not be acceptable. We must protect the few registered females that we have.
Breed up progression:
1st generation belted calf 50.00% pure
2nd generation belted calf 75.00% pure
3rd generation belted calf 87.50% pure
4th generation belted calf 93.75% pure
5th generation belted calf 96.88% pure
1) Special mate a registered Dutch Belted bull with a registered or grade dairy cow. Identify the resulting daughter. The DBCA office will record and issue a 0.5 Dutch Belted Cattle Certificate.
2) Special mate a registered Dutch Belted bull with a 0.5 Dutch Belted female. Identify the resulting daughter. The DBCA office will record and issue a 0.75 Dutch Belted Cattle Certificate.
3) Special mate a registered Dutch Belted bull with a 0.75 Dutch Belted female. Identify the resulting daughter. The DBCA office will record and issue a 0.875 Dutch Belted Cattle Certificate.
4) Special mate a registered Dutch Belted bull with a 0.875 Dutch Belted female. Identify the resulting daughter. The DBCA office will record and issue a 0.9375 Dutch Belted Cattle Certificate.
5) Special mate a registered Dutch Belted bull with a 0.9375 Dutch Belted female. The progeny will be eligible for full registration.
6) All 0.5 Dutch Belted females that are born before Jan. 1, 2007 and all their female offspring, every generation through 0.9375 will continue to follow the specifications of the previous breeding up program.*
The Executive Committee reserves the right to cancel registration of animals that in their judgment fall below desired qualifications. The Executive Committee also reserves the right to deny applications for "Special Mated Certificates", "Recovery Animal Certificates", or "Registration Certificates", if it is determined that the animals are fraudulently represented in any way.
*These provisions are as follows, only for 0.5 females born before Jan 1, 2007 and their progeny:
Any 0.75, 0.875, or 0.9375 Dutch Belted females that meets the standards of color and conformation may be issued a "Certified Registration Certificate." Approval must be made by a representative from the Association.
Any 0.75, 0.875, or 0.9375 Dutch Belted females that meets the standards of color and conformation and produces 11,000 pounds or more within a 365 day lactation, on official DHIA test, is eligible for full registration. Approval must be made by a representative from the Association.
Progeny from any "Certified Female" by a registered Dutch Belted bull is eligible for full registration. The cost of such inspection must be met for acceptance. The Directors reserve the right to cancel registration of animals that in their judgment fell below desired qualifications. The Secretary reserves the right to deny applications for "Special Mated Certificates," "Recovery Animal Certificates," "Certified Registry Certificates," or "Registration Certificates," if it is determined that the animals are fraudulently represented in any way.
